Red Dot award 2015

MAK Milan awarded at the 2015 Red Dot Award, the design of MAK for its new alloy wheels wins the coveted "Product Design 2015" award, in the year of the sixtieth anniversary of this design competition. The Milanese company is confirmed among those who demonstrate greater attention to the design and quality of its products. A success that came with challenging 4,928 products from 56 countries.

MAK's new design, the Milano, has a clean and elegant design that goes well with every model of machine. It is characterized by a 10-spoke design, open and thin that start from the center of the wheel with great vigor. Halfway through its extension there is a small angle, which allows the wheel to be characterized in a decisive way. Finally, the breed has a double support on the external channel, a detail that makes it robust and resistant. Just its attractive and innovative design are the basis of its success. The MAK Milano will therefore be easily recognizable thanks to their Red Dot which only the winners of the "Product Design" award can boast. MAK Milano was born from the creative mind of Gianfranco Melegari, a highly experienced and talented designer who has worked with MAK since its inception, as well as owner of the After Design studio.

MAK's success will be celebrated during the Red Dot Gala, which will be held in Essen on June 29, 2015. More than 1,200 guests will participate in the event, attended by professor dr. Peter Zec, at the Alto-Theater in Essen. For those who simply want to admire the winning products, they can participate in the Designer's Night which will be held immediately after the gala at the Red Dot museum in Essen; here the products will be exhibited for four weeks in a special exhibition called "Design on Stage" and then permanently moved to the museum showroom together with the winners of past years.
